    Diablo Valley Gun Works

Has anyone been over to Diablo Valley Gun Works recently? I'm interested in finding a OLL friendly dealer closer by. Most other places are 60 mile drives, which isn't bad but it's kind of a hassle. Anyone know what their FFL transfer fees are? Also, what kind of client tel do they cater to? Tactical/LEO/Hunter/etc...

They don't seem to have a web site.

Yes. They are OLL friendly. They cater to a diverse clientele. Call them at 925-676-4117. Ask for Bill or Ken.

after some number of months wait, i had to get my money back..

          oll and a ak.
they just could not get them said the supplyer would not make any more of the ak's, some months after i ordered it. and for some reason they said the supplyers of the oll, are not shipping any lowers to there "small" outlets only the larger dealers..

like i said, i hope i was the one in a million problem, not meaning to sound like i am bad mouthing them.

depending on where you're at, there is Irvington Arms in Fremont, City Arms in Pacifica, Metco in Fairfield.

Diablo Valley Gun Works is a good shop. I have dealt with Ken over there on a number of occasions and have had no problems at all. They are one of the few places in the Bay besides Irvington Arms that will deal with OLL's without any hassles.

It used to be (?) at 69 Doray - barely visible from CC Blvd. Doray is about 1/2 mile S of Sunvalley/Taylor.

It seems to have moved to 1942 Linda - Linda is between Doris and Vivian, parallel to CC Blvd, one block on the west side, and a block south of Doray. Vivian is about 1/3 mile N of Gregory.

Or Yahoo businesses is lying to me - haven't been there for a while.

It's just west across the street (20yards) from the Casper's hotdogs parking lot, which is located on Contra Costa Blvd. There's no sign, just some construction company name on the new house looking building. It's a bit larger than the old location, but it's just not the same! -g

I've never had an item like an OLL shipped there but I did do a PPT with an OLL there and the transaction was smooth. I've had some old Garands checked for headspace there that came back to me in a very quick manner even though I said to take their time with them...overall I've had a good experience there talking with the guys and stuff.

They have decent pricing for the area and are OLL friendly. Gunsmithing leaves something to be desired. I took my Kimber for an action job and got a full auto 1911 in .45. That was no fun. If it did not jam on round 5 I might have lost control of it. Scared the pi** out of me. Nedless to say I did not have them fix it after I got a response from Bill of "well you wanted a light trigger and these things can happen". No thank you.

Their transfer fees are pretty steep for non FTF transfers, their prices aren't way outta line for CA brick and mortar FFLs and they do have good deals from time to time as well as used guns.

I was in there this week and the had a mag lock AK and Saiga.

Been to Irvington and bought my first OLL there. Takes me around an hour one way. Pleasant Hill is maybe 15 minutes tops. I have nothing but good things to say about IA but it's a bit out of the way for me.

Yup, it's 1942. I have talked to another FFL who had shipped stuff there and said he's had no problems.

What's steep? $65-100 seems to be the norm. Anyone know what they charge? If they have a decent transfer price and don't complain about OLL's, then I don't mind.

I'm looking to pickup a autoloader shotgun. Maybe a handful of OLL's after that.

I still remember Hogans when they had a huge handgun showcase as well as rifles. I was a bit sad when I returned there years later to see nothing but a few rifles then they were gone.
