    M777 155mm Howitzer

So yesterday on the way home I come across this on 580 EB just outside of Castro Valley.....

My son worked on these when he wasn't working on the fire control systems for the Abrams tank

A few years ago I had the chance to fire a 105mm howitzer at Fallon NAS,it was a kick in the ---.Watching the projectile come out of the muzzle(looks like a football)and losing it after 300yds and 9sec later a big explosian on some tanks, then the sound comes back to thump you in the chest.I have the shell as a momento.

You're getting one too? Shoot, I thought I was the only one that found that on Gunbroker. Did yours also come with the Eotech XPS-3 with flip-to-side magnifier? If not, you got robbed.

Years past the USMC had 155 mm in howitzer and the longer barreled 155 gun .
As to be expected the howitzer had a more rainbow trajectory and the gun had a flatter trajectory and more distance .

Maybe some current 0800 type can clarify more .

Anyone know how those shells work? I've seen videos of those cannons being loaded and fired, and it's like they shove the shell in, and then toss a big primer behind it or something.

So it's not just like a big bullet, it's components are divided or something.

Wonder what the bullet button on that looks like to make it CA compliant.
