    shoulder padding

I am looking for someone who uses a padded vest or other garment along the the lines of the browning vest were the pad is removable. For the purposes of trying other padding material on a trial basis. If you shoot a lot of C&R and are in the Inland Empire and would like to try alternative pads and are willing to report your likes and dislikes regarding them let me know. I only mentioned C&R because they have a hard steel butt plate and not a padded one. I hope to be able to find an alternative to what is available and be able to offer it as an option to what I have seen that is readily available.

You'll have much better luck if you post this in the shotgun forum. Shooting vests are usually worn by people who shoot a lot of trap/skeet/sporting clays or 5-stand.

My wife and I both wear Beretta shooting vests with the removable Beretta Gel-Tek recoil pad in it. They are very effective in eliminating sore shoulders after a long day of shooting.

Both of us use Benelli semi-autos that have the Benelli ComforTech recoil system on it. We typically shoot 2 3/4" shells with #7.5 or #8 1 1/8oz birdshoots loaded for 1200 or 1145 fps. Without the vests and their recoil pads, we get sore after a weekend of shooting, and we shoot almost every week, on both Sat and Sun.

We can't help you in this however as we're located in San Jose, plus, our vests and their recoil pads work very well so there's no need for us to explore any further. If you're thinking of marketing a product like this, I think you'll have trouble trying to convince people to buy it to replace the recoil pad that already came with their vests.

You might want to take a look at another product called PAST Field Shield. It is a strap-on shoulder pad. It works well for absorbing recoil but there are many design flaws, such as being too difficult to strap on and some thicker versions being too clumsy.

A strap-on recoil pad like the Past brand (I don't know if they're still made) is a great way to take some of the bite out of those old metal buttplate military rifles and hard kicking shotguns.
