Can you have your firearm in a locked safe while you sleep on one of Santa Cruz's beaches? It's one of the beaches where they let you camp on the beach it's self. Thanks.

Isn't a campsite considered a residence, and therefore allowed to carry a gun unlocked? -
If it is a State Park, they have special rules, so possibly no.Comment

Did you look up the location (google/bing) and find any rules regarding the campground itself, or try to find a point of contact # for the location you wish to stay and ask them directly ?
Granted, you may get some FUD, but it gives you an idea of where you stand with the location in question.Comment

The potential problem here is what the responding LEO will consider to be a "campsite?" Is it your tent and only the tent or the area outside your tent? And if so, how far outside the tent? 5 feet? 10 feet? 20 feet? Or the 100 yards you have to walk to the latrine while armed?"Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."

So... let me see if I understand the terminology correctly now. Your SO, who is previously had a CCW, now must have a LTC because her Wild Weasel clothing on the Santa Cruz beach leaves little to conceal. Ergo, it now must be called LTC vs. CCW? What ever happened to the Magnum P.I.'s Hilo Hattie Hawaiian shirts? :-)Comment
