So all we need to do is call 911

So just call 911 and hope the make it in less than 13 minutes.

A Denver woman who spent nearly 15 frantic minutes on the phone with 911 was killed Monday night by a bullet to the head before help reached her.

I read that article earlier. The anti's will say that if there wasn't a gun in the home, mom would be alive. I say bullshizz to that. Dude wanted to kill, and was going to kill, regardless of means and methods. If the gun wasn't available, it would have been a knive, bat, hammer, fists, feet, something. When will these ignorant fools quit trying to legislate murderous behavior. If mom had access to her own firearm, she might be here today.

        Enough said:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke speech of 23 April 1770, "Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents," delivered to the House of Commons.

My main point is 13 min. for the cops to show up did not matter who it was or what the weapon was. She needed something to defend herself with besides 911.

How about "1911" as first call instead of 911?

I would like to know when the cops actually showed up so we get an accurate response time. 13 minutes is a lot of time to kill someone. You don't need a gun. Grab a kitchen knife or a bat you can still get the job done.

There are some places in America where the police response time is over an hour. Calling 911 isn't really an option for much of rural America.

1: why didn't she use the firearm herself?
2: are they really trying to blame this on marijuana?

This story doesn't advance any cause, it's just one of those sad stories that happens. If the claim is having a firearm to defend yourself rather than depending on 911 is the answer well, she had one in her home and that didn't help her. The only thing i can take away from this story is don't depend on anyone to defend you but you, and if you're in the home with a crazy person, leave!

Why would you like to know the cops response time? Does it matter one bit? I don't care if the average response time for the police around the country is 20 minutes, 13 minutes or 1 minute.

Law abiding citizens should be able to carry firearms in and out of their houses regardless of how fast the police can get there to help. In most instances where a person needs to protect themself or their family, a 5 second response time would be too long.

I wonder wtf took the cops so long. Were they on other calls at the time? Were they on break?

Regardless, it shows that a cell phone is not a good tool for self defense.....
