    PPT in California?

While looking for a .22 handgun, I got a text from a guy wanting to sell me a gun he bought in Texas. He said it doesn't need to be transferred through a ffl.

Do all guns transferred in CA have to be done through a ffl dealer?

Yes. PPT's in Ca must be done through an FFL. Both the buyer and the seller must prove California residency.

Ask if he'll pay your bail if you guys get caught. Better hope it isn't a stolen gun he is trying to pawn off on you.

Since 1991, substantially all firearms transfers in CA must go through an FFL.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
