In theory its after each use...Ill admit that isnt always the case though, but the HD gun(s) get cleaned and oiled as soon as I get home 100% of the time. Most others will get cleaned before they go back out, most of the time but not always.

Im sure my G35 would run fine after even my heaviest of range days but thats beside the point. It gets broken down, cleaned, inspected, oiled and dry fired several times before the HD mags go back in it.

What is this 'cleaning' thing you speak of?
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
        Come on...what harm??

I clean mine when they stop working or accuracy suffers.

People do more damage cleaning than shooting most times.

I carry an EB Kobra Carry and quick clean it weekly. Strip, wipe down, and ensure the rails are still well lubed. It's a 30 year habit. I detail clean it after every shoot.

                I clean them 3 times:
At the range (after I am done shooting and before I pack them up) I run a patch through the bore with either hoppe's (reg gun) and windex for my C&R guns.
                After I get home:
I scrub each bore with hoppe's/plug the barrel and put up for the night.
Next day (or with a day or so):
Finnish cleaning-wipe the gun(s) thoroughly (oil as needed): Put away
I know it might seem a bit much but it works for me

The bore gets some attention after each use.
                  Solvent, brush, boresnake, CLP.

Depending on use/conditions/function, etc. field strip and fully clean/lube.

When purchasing a used gun, full strip, inspection, clean and lube. Basically provide a baseline of inspected and clean.

I clean mine every 2-3 range trips or 2-300 rounds. My brother fully detail strips and cleans his glock 23 every time he shoots it. But he's a cop, and kind of anal.

I used to be the "never let a gun set on a dirty rifle" type thanks to my military time, but shooting my own guns I've found they malfunction more often after a good cleaning than after 100 or so rounds.

My Mini-14 had gone over 500 rounds without a cleaning(other than the occasional bore snake) or malfunction and I cleaned it just because, well it had malfunctions again for the first 100 rounds or so.

Cleaned my Glock at 500 rounds and again at 1000, with no malfunction yet.

Clean my .357 chambers after every time shooting though to avoid buildup from the .38s getting in the way of the .357.

I have to agree with this. With the exception of my 91/30 because of the corrosive ammo, I leave everything a little dirty and they seem to function more smoothly.

Never...all i shoot are glocks and aks...i just bury them when im back from the "range"

All jokes aside, as soon as im back from the ranges, maybe once every couple of months if i havent shot in a while.

I clean my Glock after every use because it's my defense gun, and even though it should run fine dirty, I clean it so I can inspect it and make sure that it will definitely run if/when I need it.

Everything else, it depends on the finish, and how much time I have.
