DEMRO TAC-1 9mm Pistol Package Thread

Before I begin, let me introduce myself. My name is Stephen King and I am the webmaster of www.foxcarbine.com. I put together the website for my good friend and colleague John Hoover a few years ago to share some of the mounds of documentation and history he has. John is the former Vice President of the TRI-C Corporation and friend of Gerry Fox.

There was a thread on this board about five years ago advertising a pistol version of a Demro TAC-1. Here is the url of the the original thread:

This post has bothered me for a while but since I have been recently approached by an individual claiming to have a WASP pistol I felt it appropriate to set the record straight.

TRI-C, FoxCo and Demro NEVER made a pistol version of their firearm.

Confirmation for TRI-C and FoxCo come from John Hoover, the former Vice President and confirmation for Demro comes from a former employee of Dean Machine who I have been in contact with for a couple of years now.

Okay, so aside from the wood furniture, what's the difference between what PRK was advertising at the link you posted above and what this guy is sold on Gunbroker? (Well, okay, wood furniture and the one on GB looks like it's Class III.)

It looks to have the same detachable stock setup, and has both a short and long barrel.

The Wasp for sale by RPK was a mixture of parts. Note the plastic forearm and the walnut grip combination. The Wasp was manufactured with a steel folding stock and plastic hand grips. This firearm also had a 10" machine gun bbl installed making it a SBR, not a "pistol".

The Wasp you referred to on GA is a standard XF-7 with 16-7/8" barrels. It has the standard plastic forearm, plastic grips, steel folding stock and correct front blade sight. The only non-standard modification I see is sling swivels that were added at some point. It also came with two 16-7/8" barrels. These guns were easily converted from .45ACP to 9mm by changing the bolt head, barrel and adding an insert to the magazine well. .45ACP uses M3A1 surplus magazines and 9mm uses Sten magazines. The seller added a picture of the XF-7A product sheet showing the full auto version but this was not a full auto XF-7A.

Here is a link to the Demro product sheet on www.foxcarbine.com which shows the "five" models produced by Demro Products Inc. aka Dean Machine:
