You know what would really be cool to see in the Olympics? Long distance shooting competition. Tactical shooting (eg: IDPA) would never, ever get accepted because it "teaches people to kill", but it seems like if there's gonna be short range smallbore shooting why not let benchrest or long-range shooters also get the recognition they deserve?Last edited by jcaoloveshine; 08-15-2008, 1:31 AM.sigpicComment

From what I've read some Scandinavian countries like Finland and Switzerland where the shooting sports are a part of the national culture could definitely give us a run for our money in that long distance category. In my opinion opening up that long range slot would only give shooters more options since smallbore and air-rifle would still be a part of the sports.sigpicComment
