Hey, sorry, I just don't post much here on this monster site. I just could not keep this gem of the community to myself.
A buddy of mine needed some feeling out of different shotguns I had so he could decide on something for RV defense gun.
Which worked out for me as I had to pop the cherries on three Glocks (2-40's 23-27 & 10mm-G29).
I wanted to see if the 180gr. Underwood @ 1300fps was going to be a freak to shoot out of a subcompact, not really subcompact cause it's so much heftier that the 26-27.
If anyone is on the fence about a Glock 29 10mm... Get it.
I'm 5-10 170lbs with novice skill set. Shot a Box of Underwood Hot 180 and a box of PMC 180. Wish I had more ammo. 90% 8" center mass @30-35'.
You know you got something warmer than usual in your hands, so what. You do your part with confidence and it WILL reciprocate performance generously without being unruly.
Anywho,
This was bar none my best experience of any gun range. The counter people were polite, engaging and were genuinely interested in why you were spending your time and money at their place. This was just the beginning.
Once we got on the other side of the glass Jim the range manager was easy to approach and ask for help regarding giving my buddy John a hand with a few pointers on his(and myself, jerking trigger) shooting techniques. He was helpful with spotting rounds throughout the strings. He is an instructor for classes for the CCW so we chatted about my old misdemeanor and how I should go for mine.
They let me pick up my BRASS!!!
I am reloading my 10mm in the future so...
He just did not want a bunch of brass lying around the booths so it had to be
Biggest impression of going beyond,
Range officer Jim extends courtesy as well as professionalism while being considerate of his different shooter's skill levels and works with them while protecting the comfort level of the beginners.
All other ranges have paled by a large margin compared to these guys.
I'm going back waaaay sooner than I expected.
I am in no way connected to these guys. And there has been threads on them before. That last comment is cheesier and more shameless than anything I would want to read. But for the experience I just went through I'll hang it out for these guys.
