I sold a shotgun, i need to ship it to the FFL, I wanted to do the payment method through paypal, but the FFL said there antigun, and will ban us.... go figure....... I just want to make sure we both have accountability for the transaction that I nor the buyer feel there is any possibility to be ripped off....... So does anyone know what is the best method to receive a payment from a buyer?

I always do USPS money order with signature confirmation depending on price and have never had any problems.Comment

I've sold a lot of stuff including vehicles out of state and in my mind the best way to receive or make payment is through a bank wire transfer. It's safe and fast. A couple weeks ago I sold my truck to a local buyer. They paid the balance ($5900) via a cashiers check. I ran down the next day and deposited the check and guess what? They put a five day hold on it. Had the buyer used a bank wire transfer I would have had the money within 24 hours. The buyer informs you that they've made the transfer. You watch your account and as soon as the funds arrive you release the item you're selling. Easy peazy.
You need:
Bank Name and address
Bank phone number
Routing number
Account numberComment

I've used Chase QuickPay in the past. It's pretty quick and easy however IIRC one of the parties to the transaction needs a Chase account.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

Will UPS do COD for individuals? I think it costs an extra $7 bucks. The FFL doesn't get the gun until he pays, and he doesn't pay until the gun arrives. You get the money from UPS.Comment
