Hope this is the right place to pose the question: I thought I heard somewhere if I dros a gun, then decide to buy another gun within 30 days that I don't need to pay dros fees again. Makes sense, essentially it's a background check and what's going to happen in 30 days? But Cali and Uncle Sam love their taxes and shakedowns, so it would make sense they'd tax me as much as possible. Any ffl'ls out there have my answer?

You have it correct... each DROS is charged separately.
You will pay again..

Be sure to check this with your LGS before assuming they can do so. My understanding is that ONE correction can be made on a DROS so if an employee made a simple mistake such as misidentifying a particular model (CA DOJ has some bizarre rules about using factory codes for some makes and models) then the single allowed correction might already have been made.
Best to assume that unless you make multiple rifle purchases during the same trip to your LGS that you will pay for a separate DROS."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment

This is not legal since you would not be waiting a full 10 days for whatever you add, and because it is a new transaction. From what i understand, you cant do this any more because each long gun has to be registered via serial number
When it was possible, it was legal. You DROS for 5 guns, then cross the number off and write in exactly how many the customer actually wanted. Not anymoreOriginally posted by KestryllThis guy is a complete and total idiot.

^^^ This! I wouldn't want to be the FFL who gets audited by CA DOJ and then has to answer why a there is a 4473 on file for a sale that occurred on day 10 of a DROS.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
