Where to shoot in Monterey County

Here is the problem. I have no place I can shoot my rifles in Monterey. Laguna Seca is only open Fri-Mon. and is closed for special events (April 4-14.) Also Markleys in Watsonville is pistol or shotgun only. Swiss gun club is members only and have no open spots along with Pajaro Rod and Gun Club. I work for the forest service as a fire fighter and my days off are Tuesday Wednesday. I have no where to shoot. Suggestions. Help. Something. I have a brand new rifle and can't shoot it.

Have you tried contacting the 2 members only clubs and explain that you're a firefighter and also work for the forest service?

I think some of these clubs might make exceptions for boys and girls in uniforms.

In that case, according to bayarearanges.com, the closest place would be the Field Sports Park shooting Range of Santa Clara County. A bit of a drive for you but they're open on Wed:

I shoot at the close by Coyote Valley Sport Clay often, but it is a shotgun only range (they have cowboy shooting too if you join them).

Yah, if there's an event at Laguna, they close the range

Pajaro Rod and Gun only has a pistol range to my knowledge.

There's the Santa Clara public range just south of San Jose.

Los Altos Rod and Gun in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Los Gatos.

There's also the Scotts Valley Sportsmans' Club. Bit of a wait to join though.

All a bit of a hump but I drive further to compete.

Unfortunately, Los Altos is only open to public Thur to Sunday.

Monterey County BLM spot called Williams Hill south of King City is a good spot if not too far for you.
