OK,
So I picked up the SD9VE today $369.00 from Turners. I own a couple Glocks and other handguns but wanted to see what this S&W was all about. I researched the internet and found really great reviews/videos but noticed some things I didn't find during my research. I have not fired it yet!
The Bad
1. Trigger is a Longggggg pull but that was expected.
2. Let me be clear, it is in no way as perfected as a Glock, I am not a Glock fanatic, just saying!
3. It feels exactly as a Handgun in this price range should feel, not super cheap but not perfection
4. Scratches and mill marks on the slide
5. Ding/nick in the barrel as well as on the slide
6. Loaded trigger indicator can be seen in the sight picture
7. The most annoying thing was right behind the trigger where a visible white dot from the frame being removed from the cast can be seen
8. very dirty from the factory, some metal shavings in slide
The good
1. actually feels great in the hand, thin, light and holds great.
2. dry fired with snap caps around 100 times, seems to cycle very smooth
3. MAGS go in smooth and eject as smooth
4. easy to break down and clean
5. Looks great
6. I like the two tone with the Stainless
7. Mag eject is easy to reach and depress
8. Grip angle
I will update this post after I fire this thing and let you all know how it went. I hope this helps anyone looking to purchase one of these. Seems like depending on reliability it could be a nice back up weapon or to keep around the house! For the price, if it goes bang its not a bad piece.
