Anyone have a Gun Vault - SpeedVault? Programming issues

I just picked up a Speed Vault, its brand new and i've been having problems programming a code into it. The factory directions were very clear, but it still isn't working.

I've tried pulling the battery, waiting then restarting the process. No luck! I can complete the programming process, I get the 5 green blinks that say the code has been accepted, the code doesn't work.

Any tips or advice from people who own one of these? For what it may be worth, the factory code 1,2,3,4 didn't work from the beginning. The key is the only way to open it.

tl;dr Speedvault wont program, green blinks say its good. Code doesn't work

I actually installed one today. Instructions are pretty simple but I would think if the initial 1,2,3,4 didn't work you might have a dud.

I opened it with the key, put a battery in and closed it. I then tried the 1234, the unit just beeped and flashed red. The key was the only way to get it open, I then tried the programming procedure. Still no dice.

Feel like throwing this thing out the window!

I have one of their other products and it works fine. Exchange it for another one.

Exchange it for a new one. I have the same one installed in my car, works great.

I called tech support, they listened to the beeps over the phone. It turns out it was low battery voltage. Later today I will try a newer battery.

I had this problem with one of my vaults. The Battery I used turned out to be old. The safe requires a new fresh battery. I thought about getting one of those safes. Might start looking for one.

I use the nano vault with a key, never needs batteries.

LOL, el cheapo, rather than try a "newer" battery, why don't you spring for a brand new one?

Hah yeah it was 100% me being cheap. I wanted to test it out as soon as it came in the mail!

Gun vault was really specific about the date of the battery, they insisted it had to be dated 2018 to be a "new" battery. Kind of strange but I put a new Duracell in and it worked perfect.

I also wrapped the box in sound deadener to quiet it down, but its still a little too loud. I wish they would've put some R&D into making it quieter.
