Too much NRA "junk" mail? Read this.

If you would rather not have all the non essential mail from the NRA, here's how to reduce / eliminate it.

    From the NRA website FAQ.

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?

A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

Yes, i get a lot of BS mail from them. I'd rather have them save the junk costs and use it for something good. Like paying off a politician. HA

      Good info

Thanks for the info, that has been bugging me for sometime. I would prefer that they used the money to get new members, instead of trying to get money I don't have.
The friends of the NRA events would be much more succesfull if they used their fund-raisers to promote more member participation. I personally witnessed a 'Friends of the NRA' event in Costa Mesa, where anyone not in the local click was 'snubbed' by the people putting on the event. Tickets to the event were sold without having seats for people, even though the price of admisson included dinner. Whole tables were sold at a premium and the people sitting there were asked to move, after being told those were their seats. Then the moved people were placed at tables that had been purchased at a premium by other less popular(older) members. Without so much as a introduction. They even did this to a father with his to small boys, he wanted to introduce his boys to the NRA. I doubt he will be back.
There were dishes scattered about the room with flyers to sign up for volunteer work. Not one call back ever, I personally signed up for many.
It was like a FREE GUN GIVE AWAY for SPECIAL members. It was a joke.
As a long time NRA member I was very dissapointed. There was nothing about the event that would encourage people to participate or join.
I was personally embarrased for the people putting on the event. I will not be going back. I hope they spent the procedes carefully.

NRA claims that all the junk solicitations they send out "pay for themselves" due to the increased revenue they generate. They are a successful fundraising organization, you better believe that they wouldn't be sending out all that crap if it didn't increase their revenue.

Personally, I called them and had them stop sending me everything except American Rifleman.
