it's the green card they give you that allows you to work/live here if you've moved from another country.

What visa is he here on legal in the country.

If he does not have a green card he wont be getting anything.

Im not sure what visa hes here on (im not to immigration savvy)

Umm... I'm pretty sure Ah-nold did at least a year in the Austrian military (compulsory service) before coming here.

I wouldnt dream of carrying my green card around with me, if it was lost its a real pain to get another from the back logged INS.

Plus as long as you have a cal drivers Lic what more would you need to prove who you are and that your legal.

FYI the green card was never green in color it was white the latest versions how ever are goldish green.

I dont see how your friend does not understand that his green card is his permanent resident card, just what did he think it was - Visa

My mom's green card used to be green. This was back in the early 1970's when I saw it as a kid, though it may have actually been issued earlier than that. When she showed me her latest green card I remember her pointing out that it wasn't green anymore.

Just a note: Arnold is a citizen, otherwise he couldn't run for office at all.
