They HAD great customer service in the past. Used them as FFl and bought a couple of lowers from them and I had nothing to say but good things. I even recommended them to my coworkers.
Maybe I'm just one of the few, but here is my latest experience with this lgs. I ordered an SR9c from gallery of guns to be picked up a Island View. I received confirmation from GOG that my gun was delivered to IVE on March 11. I called a few times and the response was "we'll call you when the gun is in". I even gave them my wife's cell phone number (because I told the guy at the time that I'm worried that the gun might fall off the DOJ list). I called tonight because I haven't heard from them since my last phone call on March 17. Long story short, I was told that the gun fell of the list and I can't buy it anymore and it was sent back to Gallery of Guns. I asked to speak to a manager and was given to Dave.
Dave insisted he called and left a message on the 17th of march. When I checked my phone records, I found that I had a missed call from IVE number. I told Dave initially that I did not see IVE's number, but upon closer look, I found it in my call history. It was a missed call at 6:01 pm. No message was left, although, Dave insisted that he left a message. I told him that it was bad customer service that I did not get a courtesy call. I told dave that I might write about this experience online.
A couple of minutes later, Dave called back. He insisted that he left a message and told me that I shouldn't be writing lies behind a computer. At this point, this really got to my nerve and told him sarcastically, "you want me to come over and tell it to you in front of your customers?". He said yeah, why don't you....at that point, I hung up the phone. I admit, I slammed the phone on him. And going to a gun store and making a scene is not really a good idea, isn't it?
Now, if the gun was gonna fall of the list, why didn't anyone bothered to call me the next day on the 18th just to make sure that I get the message? They sent the gun back to GOG, no one ever called me again to tell me that I can't complete the transaction anymore. When I said I will write about this experience, he accused me of making lies behind a computer.
Maybe most of the guys here have a great experience with this LGS like I did in the past. This may have just been a fluke, but accusing someone of lying is just plain wrong. He should've tried to find ways to correct the situation.

After reviewing my phone records, I found that I made two calls to island view on 3/17/2014. I was told at those calls that they had a back log of orders and they'll get to me. After those two calls, I received a message from Dave (around 1:59 pmthe same day) telling me to come to the store that day because the gun will fall off roster. I accept responsibility for not getting ive's message, however, they received the gun on 3/11/2014. I also called 3/13/14 and the quick response was I'll get a call once it's received or ready.
As a side note, I picked ive over a gun store around the corner (who's offer was cheaper) because of my previous dealings with them and their support for Calguns. I am not trying to get people not to patronize ive, this is just sharing an experience. I learned that next time, I should have been more assertive about getting immediately dros'd. IVE should've not wait the last minute to make a call to advise me that the gun will fall off roster that same day when they received it a week earlier.
