Blunt force trauma. Does the vest have a trauma Plate? Most of the big body armor companies now have some type of trauma plate over the heart. The force can actually do bad things to your heart without the trauma plate. As far as slugs go, we tested an old vest against a slug years ago. Taped the vest to a 4x4, the vest stopped the slug, but it broke the 4x4. Survivable, who know but it will hurt a lot.
