If only I knew the price of guns would increase so much, I would have bought Colt Pythons, 1911's, and AR15's when they were under $500.00.

Wish I would have starting C&R Guns a long-long time ago!
            (when they where really-really cheap)

            And started muzzle-loading sooner too!

Buy the guns that fit me and work best for me instead of buy what's popular. Referring to the Ar-15 here. I just don't like it. I like my M1A better.

Main regrets I have are passing up good deals on used firearms or waiting too long until after someone else snagged.

Buy more used, early, out of production firearms in your calibers of preference.

                Limit calibers

No one gun is perfect for every application but there are great guns for each application. That is why you need multiple.

My only regret is that there are guns I still don't own.

Also I wish I had bought an m1 carbine while the CMP had them.

I would have bought a bunch of stuff before the prices went up. I was cleaning out a desk this week that was mine at my parent's house. I found a couple of print out quotes from my FFL. one was a Mini 14 for $415 new and the other was a Ruger single six with the two cylinders for $220 new. Years ago I had a chance to buy pretty much as many Mosens as I wanted for $12 each... these are the type of regrets I have. Then again, I was a poor college student back then and even the $220 seemed like a lot of money.

I also wish I had bought more ammo when it was cheap.

Perhaps one of my biggest regrets was not buying a pallet of M-14 magazines from the Rough and Ready Island (back when there was an active base in Stockton) surplus store. I was a kid then but IIRC they were like $0.75 each. I bought a few because I thought they were cool but to do it again, I would have bought the whole pallet. This was before the clinton gun ban
