Help - Stuck Gas Block on M&P 15

Attempting to remove the gas block from my M&P 15 resulted in a mushroomed roll pin(and likely paperweight block) and I simply lack any fancy tools to finish the job. Can someone reccomend a gunsmith/someone with a drill press/anything in the San Jose area so I can get the stupid thing off?

ha ha you dont need any fancy tools to remove it. take a hammer and hit the pin area very hard till the pins move down a little once their free take some steel punches and knock em through. btw make sure your hitting the small pin side out through the large pin side. doing it my way might ruin your gas block so beware if you wanna use it again. imho gunsmiths charge too much for simple things like this, my gunsmith wanted to charge me 40 dollars to remove my gas block and another 40 to change out my glock sights. so i said hell no and did it myself.

Roll pin? The gas tube retaining pin is a roll pin. The gas block pins are tapered pins... make sure your hitting them from the correct side.

Some early M&P have pins in the opposite way then the way most companies do it.
Thats because Stag made them and thats how they do theirs
I just removed the front sight base from my m&p and they were backward from what I expected. I had to drive them from right to left instead of left to right. Fortunately, I figured it out before I did any damage or made them impossible to remove. Is this the standard S&W Configuration?

In San Jose, you have a number if places. Honestly, I'd go to Kerley's on Steven's Creek, given a choice.
