Shortage of HSC's

I went to the Turners in Norwalk to retake my HSC since it expired 1 year ago and god be hold the lady said that they are out of Cards. I called yesterday and they didn't say anything regarding a shortage of cards. I got my money back but what a waist of time. She did tell me i could take the test and pick up the card sometime this week. No thank you i'll go somewhere else. Anybody else experience this lately?

They are notoriously slow to send out new ones when they are ordered, also remember that the HSC goes away in 2015 to be replaced with the FSC for longguns and handguns so they will have to stop printing them at some point. How that affects shortages and defacto unable to purchase a handgun will be interesting.

Read it and weep, still lots of unknowns about this bill as far as when cards will be available and who can give the test (unless anyone else has heard otherwise).

your HSC card is still good for 5 years to purchase handguns. but if you want to be able to purchase a long gun after 1/1/15, you'll need the new FSC card.
