    Coming back home, sort of...

Currently in the military stationed in Georgia and purchased quite a few firearms here, and I am now going to Korea for a year. My predicament is I want to store my firearms back home, in California, for the time being until I return from Korea.

None of the firearms are registered in California. I have several Curio firearms which to my understanding all I have to do is simply fill out the registration form and send it in to the DOJ.

My two concerns are a Sig 1911 and a Sig M400 that I own. The pistol I will just have to register, but do I need any sort of Handgun safety course? And the M400 is technically a "assault weapon", but I dont think it's listed specifically as illegal. So can I get a bullet button and make it 'legal', would I just go through the normal registration process?

Also, I have several 30 round magazines that were issued to me, is it illegal to use them or to own them? Or both?

Sorry for being so clueless to the laws, I appreciate any and all help

As far as the mags go, they have to be made into 10 round mags before they can come here.

So with my Sig M400 if I have a bullet button installed it will be legal to register? Is there any difference in registering it compared to any other firearm? Thanks
