    Home defense situation question

    I have a question about a HD situation and wondering if i could get some answers.

    So I have a handgun registered to me and i live with my cousin. I have told her where the handgun is located just in case i am not there. can my cousin legally use it in a HD situation if it calls for it even though its only registered to me?

      If your cousin is not a 'prohibited person', yes.

          Even if she is a felon, she can use firearm to defend herself as long as she is in imminent danger

              Yes, but then the owner has to explain why the prohibited person had access to his gun - a crime in CA.

              That 'prohibited person uses a gun in self defense' scenario has a lot of fact-based considerations, and is really off topic for the thread.
