Gun Mosaic, anyone?

So the art bug bit me and I have been spending a little bit of time making mosaics. To make mosaics though, one needs photos. So, I hit the web and racked up some webpages into WebCopier Pro to weed through and download all images that are 20kb or larger. It took a couple sessions, but I ended up with 11,576 photos, all gun related, to make my mosaic.

Here are the following renditions.

Final try (just completed). This is using all tiles at least once (the ones that can be used) with minimal repetition, if any. No blending/fading



This one is with some repetition and 35% or so blending (marginal)



Well, that's pretty much it. Time to go to bed!

I don't mind the time spent really, in fact it is kind of nice to build a relationship with someone to counteract all the destruction I do (hunting, etc). Not saying that hunting is bad, au contraire (went hunting with a friend yesterday, in fact) but building up a relationship is just a cool feeling.

I have a program that downloaded about 10k images or so off of various websites as the fodder. Then, I ran the images through a renamer to get rid of duplicate file names. Then, I ran everything through a mosaic program and it took about 30min per photo to generate.
