    Selling a antique pre-1898 gun

    Im looking to sell my old 1897 belgium revolver what are the laws for selling to another private individual? Also its a project, not able to shoot.

    I could be wrong but i think for hand guns if it uses a center fire cartridge it still has to be sold via ffl.

      Pre 1899 is consider a antique. No ffl needed.

        Yeah, no FFL needed if it was actually manufactured before 1899. The model year doesn't matter, it's the actual date of manufacture that does. So a Model 1897 revolver made in 1899 has to go through an FFL but a Model 1897 revolver made in 1898 is exempt from federal and California dealer transfer requirements.
