Do you mean an exemption for buying greater than 10 round magazines?

If so, as far as I know the only exemption is for law enforcement.

Criminals have an exemption here from any and all laws.

There's an exemption for FFL's that have a high cap mag permit, for the purpose of selling the mags to LEO's.

Some thing like an "assault weapon " exemption?

I applied for that permit. Got rejected and was told the reason was, I'm too pretty for prison.

If you owned the +10 rounders before Jan. 1 2000, they are yours.

                  There is your exception.

                  That and LEOs.

There isn't an exemption, per se. Standard capacity magazines that you owned prior to their being deemed illegal, are perfectly legal. This is, of course, assuming you are using them in a legal manner, and not violating any other laws in the process.

Can grandfathered mags still be confiscated under the nuisance clause?
