    M4 - AR15 handgard

I see allot allot of M4 handgards in military films about special forces, that have a handgard which is designed with large circles running information along its length, this M4 model almost always has a grenade launcher attached to the underside.

Why does this type of handgard acompany the grenade launcher setup on the M4 and why have i not seen this style of handgard offered in the AR15 market, it makes the rifle look sinister, which appeals to me greatly.

Yes like the bottom one, very nice weapon set up, so can you purchase those handgards? who makes them? Is there a special reason behind that staggered circle design.

That's the handguard that comes with the M203 grenade launcher. You can get one, but beware it has no bottom, so there's not much to grip. It's pretty useless without the actual grenade launcher.

The pics aren't of mine, the one on top is the "real deal," but I had that one on the bottom ... the Cobray flare launcher has since been "passed along" to another CG buddy... Was too heavy for me... Was fun to play with, though!

Cobray sells both the fake launchers and the (top) M203 handguards like that, for both rifles and carbines. GunBroker has them for not too much... They look more realistic than the Spike's.

Just remember flare launchers are features - BB builds only.

The original full length specialty handguard was used, because the A1 standard triangular guards cannot fit over/around the M203's mount system.

However, there is no need for specialty handguards with an M4 barrel, as the normal half-round, or M1913 rail guards will fit fine.

The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
