Speed loader & the J-frame ? little help folks

Hi CG'ners just signed up for CCW ( March ) as I now have the carry piece I'm willing to carry. ( S&W 340 w/CT grips ) Got a great deal.

Class requires 2 speed loaders, but can't seem to find info for my scenario ( CT grips ) speed loader/function.

What do y'all use for this, are there choices ?

    Thanks in advance...

I have a set of 5 Star speedloaders for my Ruger SP-101.
They work great with my custom wood grip where the HK loaders would not fit.

The HK loaders I use would not work with the stock Uncle Mike's boot grip that came with my J-frame.

I switched to a Hogue grip (cheap and easy install) and they worked just fine.

        Try HKS Speedloaders. http://www.hksspeedloaders.com/SpeedloaderPage.html
You need their model 36-A, which is the same ones I used for my model 60. You can find them on ebay for less than $10.00 each. You may want to look into if they will work with the grips that you are currently using.

            Look at the accessories.
You might want a loading block for practice.
It comes with the two speed loaders.

I use Sarfariland speedloader for my 340. Model number is j-c7.
              Works well.

You could just use speed strips too. That's what I practiced with before I sold my j frame.

It's mandatory ( speed loaders ) for the CCW class other wise it would be considered.

Dano, oh yeah, you mentioned CT laser grip. I just have the standard rubber grip from S&W. I recall the speedloader barely fit with my set up. Yours might be too wide.

You may want to get the standard grip just for the class and use the speedloaders. You can then go back to CT and get speed strips.

Ok got back from my instructor I ask why I needed 2 speed loaders he tells me that most of his pupils will almost never touch there firearm after the class, and most don't go to the range for practice, so he's trying to school them on all aspects of there firearm, just so they have that info, and practical experience.

For me I'm GTG and the speed strips will be fine for me as that is what I'm willing to carry, and use. ( We have an accord )

You need to replace it with a Hogue. It gets thin at just the right spot to use speed loaders.

I'm surprised the OEM grip hasn't jammed up a spent casing during ejection yet for you.
