Handgun Ammo Prices

Wondering what everybody is paying for their ammo these days, especially in California. Curious about what would be a decent find online based on what you guys are paying.

For 9mm rounds, I am paying $0.25/rd for commercial reman and $0.29/rd for factory new. I buy the remanufactured ammo locally in San Diego and the factory new online. Can never find any at Walmart.

What caliber, price per round, manufacturer, and did you purchase B&M/online.

Lots of WWB and other factory 9mm at El Cajon, La Mesa and Murphy Canyon wallyworlds this morning. The cheapest was $14.50 a box of 50. I didn't buy any, don't need it.

Wow, I guess my Wal-Mart app and Ammo-Can is off. I've been checking Wally stock on 9mm everyday. Thanks for the headsup, I will head over to Murphy Canyon now. I was there yesterday and they were all out of everything.

I got 500 rounds for $125, incl tax at Orca Arms. They upped the price to $130 pretax now though.

This is what I currently pay for ammo at my range as a member. Usually Fed Range&Target or PMC Bronze. There are daily limits and only members can purchase without shooting it there. It only adds 10 mins to my commute so daily stops aren't a problem.

9mm = .26p
.45 = .43p
.40 = .35p

Prices include tax since I am buying locally. I keep these numbers handy so I can comparison shop when buying online.

Been a while since I bought factory ammo, but last time I did it was $10-11 for new factory federal. I don't even look at current prices.

Reloading is about 10 cents per... so $5/50

No WWB at the Aero Dr. (Murphy Canyon) Wal-Mart, only a few boxes of 50rd PPU, bought three boxes at a gastly $0.315/round

I've read a lot of information on the breakdown cost of reloading... it definitely is not that cheap unless you are doing it for 10's of thousands of rounds. What is often ignored is the extremely expensive setup cost which offsets any monetary benefit of loading your own ammo for a long long time.

I feel like I am in Vegas operating a slot machine when I reload, only difference is every pull is a winner. I would have no problem buying a slot machine if that happened every time.

But seriously, cost isn’t the only benefit of reloading… plus after doing it for a while, the monetary savings are almost secondary… I reload because I like it, I consider it a hobby, and in some cases (match ammo) I can make better than what I can buy in a store with a substantial cost savings.
