    Iron sight + spotting scope?

I'm a noob to rifle shooting. Is it better to start with iron sight and spotting scope or is it better to mount scopes on guns?

Btw, I just got an AR and plan to get a bolt action .22LR

Learn to shoot (proficiently) with open sights and then progress to magnified sights (scopes).

That way, you'll be able to pick up any rifle and be able to shoot reasonably accurately whether it has glass or not.

Iron Sights all the way to start. Makes you a better shooter and you will appreciate the optics alot more IMHO. Then every once in awhile go back to the BUIS.

Great advice already stated here. Not much else needed for discussion.

A spotting scope is nice to have when you're using irons. I can't see the bullet holes at 100 yards with my eyes. Even with shoot n see targets.

            Thanks!

I think I'll have to get a spotting scope as I can't even see the bullet holes at 50 yards (not shoot&see targets)
