Ammo subforum is the best for these types of questions.
Steel targets are set to fall with most factory ammo out of most guns. (Of course the USPSA has specific wordage for what I just said)
That being said steel will usually fall with a top 1/3 hit with any ammo. Buy what is available. Most people reload 115 or 124 to the minimum power factor. -
To be honest, it depends. If the match is all paper then 115 gr. is fine.
But, if there is a lot of steel, activators for swingers, movers, Texas Stars, Polish Plate Racks, I will run the 147 gr., the heavier bullet seems to knock the steel down better and a little faster. Of course this is just my perceived
observation. Ammo manufacture choice is now for me, mostly price and availability.If you can't shoot good, at least look good shootingComment
