Just a little rant.
So, I sold my G-29 to a fellow cal gunner and had to ship it to his FFL.
Disregard the fact that I could have shipped directly to the FFL, but the buyers FFL would only accept firearms from another FFL. Who cares, his rules and the buyer was covering shipping regardless.
I started with my "go to" EBR Works. They have always been fair and reasonable, but unfortunately it is by appointment only and the dates and times didn't work out.
Then I moved to Island View Enterprises. This takes a turn for the worse. I called ahead, they said "no problem, $25". Seemed reasonable and fair. I head in, wait a few minutes, then start the process. Give him my ID, give the FFL and buyer information. . . . . . . . . . then the manager (I suspect), comes over and says to me that it will be $25 to ship AND $75 for "their time". I said, since I was told $25, how about $50 total? No dice. Damn! Pack up and walk out.
I called Tim at Fort Courage. He said that he doesn't do that because it is not needed. Can't argue with that logic, but I am still stuck finding an FFL.
Addax was the same price as Island View, but at least they let me know the correct fee over the phone.
Then I said, what the hell, and gave Greta's a call. They said, "Sure. All we charge is the actual shipping fee plus a couple of bucks." Total with FedEx shipment, $35 OTD. Easy, simple, tracking number was emailed to me that night, AND they even personally gave me a call letting me know.
Again, has HELL FROZEN OVER???
