    Steel jacketed 9mm

Hey guys, I just got a shipment of ammo from my pops and as I was going through some of it I found some 9mm with steel jackets (bullets stick to magnet) on a stripper clip, did a bunch of searches on the headstamp to try find its origin to no avail. The headstamp is 10, 50, the symbol for male gender, and 6 pointed star (*). If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know.

Steel jacket? No, that would tear up your barrel. Steel core, scrape the bullet with your knife. Bought box of those at a gun show a couple of years ago.

There were small patches of what I thought to be tarnished metal on the bullets (these have been sitting in someone's garage in CO for quite some time and then in my dad's garage in CO) but when I took some sand paper to it, the dust that came off was orange (rust). So if the jacket is not made of steel, then what is it?

There are such things as steel (bimetal) jackets on pistol bullets- and they will wear out your bore faster.

I had some .380 years back that was steel jacket- we cut one open, it had a lead core.

It's Czech. They have a very mild steel jacket and a steel core.

OP, are your clips marked? I know some collectors who are always looking for old marked Czech clips.

                          The clip is marked, there's a mark I can't identify, and a 50.
