    Plinking question

For some reason i feel like i am not utilizing my rifles purposes.

    Heres the problem,
I have tried shooting paper at the rifle ranges and it dosnt really appeal to me. It was cool but i love shooting my ar-15 and ak at steel targets alot more . i have come to a point where i dont target practice at all any more and just shoot steel.it is way more fun for me. Also i dont like glass at all; except red dots ,IE eotech, aimpoint ect.,.. I dont know this may seem like a weird question but there it is.

Gee, it's your rifle play with it any legal way you want.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Don't feel bad. I'm the same way. I far enjoy reactive targets (swinging steel, bowling pins, tannerite) over shooting paper. It's nice to shoot for groups on paper, but I find the real fun at shooting reactive targets

I had the same problem up until about 5 months ago. I used to go to the local outdoor range only and they did not allow for you to set your own home made targets. I was then invited to BLM land and things changed drastically for me. I now take balloons, cans, water jugs etc and it is a lot more fun. I also now go to the flea market or stop at garage sales to buy cheap frying pans (they make great targets).

There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

As long as it's legal and you clean up after shooting your non-paper targets () you may be able to rekindle your interest as others have said. Or you could try competetion to develop more interest and excitement.

I took some apples up the other day and shot them with the scattergun. Fun times.

Rotten veggies and fruits are always a nice alternative as well . Paper is fun, but making something ping or explode is more satisfying.

Ritz crackers...fruit all kinds...anything biodegradeable or edible if you don't want to clean up afterwards.
Please clean up afterwards! We lost a lot of National Forest shooting areas near Los Angeles because of all the trash. The same will happen with BLM land if we are not careful. If you can, take out more trash / targets than you brought in with you every time.

Go to the Dollar Store (99/98 Cent Store) buy a bunch of stuft animals or GI's/Barbies, get a couple of cheap sawhorses, go to BLM land.
