    Another AR 15 pistol question

I did a search but couldn't find anything to answer my question. If you purchase an AR 15 lower and register it as a pistol at the time of purchase, do you have to install a bullet button on it? If so, why? You don't have to have a bullet button installed on any other pistols.....do you?

It's not possible to register a lower receiver as a pistol in CA (non-LE?).
Also consult the Calguns handgun chart as far as the bullet button... An AR pistol has the mag outside of the pistol grip (among other things) and requires a non-detachable magazine.

And you do that how? Which AR15 lower receivers do you believe are on the roster?

Do your other pistols have magazines outside the grip or threaded barrels. I assume not otherwise you have illegal assault weapons.

Effective January 1, 2000, Senate Bill 23, Statutes of 1999, established new criteria for defining assault weapons based on generic characteristics. This bill allowed and required persons who owned/possessed firearms that fall under the new "assault weapon" definition to register those firearms with the Department of Justice during the one-year period between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2000. Effective January 1, 2000, this bill added Penal Code Section 12276.1 to the Penal Code as follows.

So you cannot build an AR 15 pistol in California?

Never mind, I just read the other thread, and found out several things.
          1. This state sucks on so many levels.
          2. Seems like the 80% lower is the best way to go.
          3. Time to start applying for jobs in the Vegas area.

Yes, 80% is the way to go for a pistol. You could also PPT a pistol lower, but good luck finding one.
With the 80%, just be sure you make it SSE. There's a sticky in the handgun section.

I think that's called an "epiphany"

Or you find an FFL with an O7 and they build you one as complete. Countless threads on this. Recent too.
