Digital shot counter grips? Really???

I really don't understand the idea behind this product. Do you really need digital shot counter grips??? I may not be the smartest man in the world, but jeezus h. christ, if this isn't a marketing gimmick, I don't know what is! Especially since they only work with certain mags.

I see it as a great training tool for noobs and even run 'n gun events.

Edit: I just realized that this would have helped me today. I had two noobie students at a Women On Target class. I was too busy watching both of their techniques to be able to count their rounds while they were firing at the same time along with a line of other shooters.

I'm far from a tacticool shooter but, I'm thinking about getting some for the pistols I use to instruct with.
