K31 Qusetion?

Why has there been so many K31's in the for sale forum the last couple months?

Don't like rifle?

Ammo to expensive?

To fund other project's?

These are good shooting bolt rifles.
Just wondering.

1. Some people bought them in bulk numbers a few years ago when they were sub $100.

2. Calguns.net has become a much different type of place since 2005.....many peoples' focus has changed.

3. Unfortunately, safes don't enlarge in tandem with collections....

Ammo issues probably, the surplus GP11 ammo is magnetic and the other available amo that is allowed to be shot on the majority of ranges tends to be expensive.

I have 2x K31's.

K-31 crazy indeed. Swiss flu is incurable, you can only hope to treat the symptoms......

i love my swiss guns, even though i havent shot them in quite some time. i bought $600 worth of gp11 back when it was 140$ for a case. thought i was crazy a bit... until i saw that they are now $320 a case.

I had two of them. I absolutely loved the rifles, but because the surplus ammunition is magnetic I couldn't shoot them anywhere local to me. Add this to expensive commercial ammo and I just couldn't justify hanging onto rifles I couldn't feed.
If only they were .308... everything else about the rifles was amazing.

For brass: you can buy Win284 brass (run through the FL die and trim) or 7.5Swiss brass from various online vendors. Or decap (either RCBS tool or hydro-ram, see surplusrifles.com) the berdan brass if you have berdan primers.

Projectile: same as .308

If you go to swissrifles.com, it's all there.

I even thought of selling mine for no good reason other than I don't shoot it enough.

I could reload it very easily, I have everything other than the brass so I just need to buy two boxes of prvi ammo.

It's an awsome rifle, I did bowling pins at 300 yds with the iron sigts and GP-11. My Garand couldn't hit a bowling pin with 2 clips of greek ammo.

Die's are what, $30 for LEE's ?

Yeah,about 30 bucks. I bought 200 rnds of Wolf gold. Shot them,then reloaded...
