A gun poll I saw in a parenting email

My wife and I get occasional emails with tips and info for parents. Saw this poll this morning. I was surprised by the results.

Yes, but I take my kids shooting so they understand the difference between real guns & toys, FTW! 27% Answered "I remind him that guns, even pretend guns are not toys" Huh?

I wonder how many of the parents that don't allow toy guns still let their kids play Call of Duty...

Holding a plastic gun and using your imagination is "bad", but playing with virtual automatic guns portrayed semi-realistically with very visceral feedback and the constant trash talking of XboxLive is better?

I'm not saying toys or violent video games cause violent behavior (they don't), instead I'm wondering how common such an ignorantly inconsistent mindset may be among parents.
"The fundamental point [against gun control] is this: Do you take away the liberties of all, do you assume the guilt of all, because some people cannot handle that freedom properly? Imagine if you did, how many other freedoms would have to be taken away." - Peter Hitchens.

You have to consider the source, 27% of the kinds of parents who respond to online polls and read parenting blogs fall into that answer.

This. Consider the source. I don't even read most of that pseudo psychological drivel.
