    Messy "shooting areas.".....

Here's a link to Los Padres National Forest sight, regarding Cherry Creek in the Ojai Ranger District. The area has been closed for some time now, for "environmental studies." The concern is, are human and lead deposits preventing the Steel-head from repopulating the creek. To be honest, I don't believe this shooting area will ever be reopened to recreational target shooting. Follow the link and scroll to the bottom and you'll see some more links to some pictures.....

    On a personal note...
To the asshat and/or asshats responsible for the items in the pictures....gee thanks, we have way too many good shooting areas around here anyway.

And yet there is people here that think we should freely share shooting spot info with everybody. This is always the end result.

Well; they need to keep the mess and lead as separate issues... logically.

So far I have not heard any evidence about lead seepage and harming fish... or birds... or condors. As we all know (as we've been told over the last 10 years); opinions without science is being anti science. Why are they so anti science?

I hit 2 or 3 outdoor spots now & then. I try to always do a little pick-up of the area. One of the ways people find these spots to shoot, is looking for the trash, kinda crappy.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

OMG. Someone shot out an old CRT TV in that area?!?! Those things are just full of toxic substances!

Aholes like the ones that shot there and left a mess is the reason why we can't have nice shooting areas.

I wish I had ANY public land open for shooting in my area. I understand there is a fire threat due to the drought, but still I know most the area we used to shoot will probably not be open, ever again.

This was my shooting spot up in ojai, until I went back and was a landfill. It was well hidden, but I guess this people are always searching for new spots up their.

Aggravating how a handful of D-bags can ruin it for everyone and, I'll bet good money, they don't care about it either....just move to another spot.
