I am thinking about sending out something to be refinished out-of-state but the person I am dealing with is an FFL. Got two different train of thoughts listed below:
Did a search on CG and have read that gun repairs being sent to the manufacturer out of state should be exempt from the CFLC rules, but what about gun refinishing? Does that count as a repair? Where could I also cite the gun repair exemption (Couldn't see it in the CFLC FAQ)?
I know that the CFLC applies when there is a FFL to FFL transfer. I know that individuals from out of state sending shipments to a CA FFL are exempt, would this work the other way around? Would an out-of-state FFL sending a gun back to me (non-FFL) be also exempt?
