    WASR 10/63 failure to fire.

Took my wasr10/63 out for the 1st time d other day and fired fine. 2nd time around it was firing fine but for some reason it did not want to fire. I proceeded to check d chamber, and use a different magazine and still would not fire. I noticed that there was a loose part inside the receiver. After googling it appears to be the firing pin that completely came loose. I am novice but I am willing to try the fix w some direction or point me to the right gunsmith in the Bakersfield/visalia area. Thanks

is it still under warranty? did you buy it from a shop or was it a face to face transaction? the firing pin should not come loose. can you take pictures?

It was actually previously owned by my friend out of state. I got it over a year ago. He told me he purchased it from classicfirearms.com post sandy hooks but later had a change of heart and ended up selling it to me. As stated everything was fine until I rapidly unloaded about 6 rounds, I racked it and click, I proceeded to do this about 3 times, and changed the magazine/ammo and still click no fire. I will try and post pics after work. Thanks for any help...

Do you know how to field strip it? Take the bolt out and take a look, AK's are pretty straightforward!

If you can figure out how to remove the bolt from the carrier. Go on to YouTube and look for a video how to remove AK firing pin.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I have field stripped it before...pretty strange since I've prob put only about 100 rounds through it if that...I will try and post up pictures tonight...I'm hoping its something I can fix myself.

Sounds like the shepards crook came loose or you need a better hammer and trigger pin retaining plate.

I have been doing my research and seams like my firing pin came out? will this become a problem if I simply try and put it back in? I rather replace the bolt/firing pin to prevent this problem from happening again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks...
