I don't recall the part where the OP says he shot anybody. With the exception of maybe letting the local government know that there's an ******* running around breaking into people's garages to look out for, he handled it himself without incident the way it should be done more often.

Did you make a conscious effort to not read the last 4/5 of my reply to you that suggested the only reason to call the cops would be to report just that very thing?

Scary. I think the worst part is that some creep gained access to your home while youre sleeping. I think I would be pretty stressed out for a while after this if it happened to me. Im just glad that I sleep upstairs at the end of the hall, and the staircase coming up is quite narrow. If I heard a bump in the night I would know danger is in front of me and not behind where the wife and kid is. Glad ur ok.
