Calguns 1 per month club

Hi fellow Calgunners,

With all the BS we have gone through the last few years, I came to the conclusion that the best way to fight (besides my NRA membership, etc) is to buy more guns. To that end, I made my New Years resolution a simple act of defiance...I will buy a minimum of one gun per month, every month for all of 2014. So far I have purchased:

January - Glock 19

I imagine anti's crying each time I sign my pickup forms and it makes me smile. Maybe this isnt a Rosa Parks style act of defiance but it sure makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

You'll be joining the new safe every 6 months club too! My 8 gun has been stuffed with 10 long and 3 handguns. I'm caught up to March with the 1 a month program!

Sadly, I already have way too many guns, especially handguns (something like 25 or 30), so I'm afraid I can't join you in your gun-buying crusade.

I'm with you brother. Fortunately my wife also enjoys shooting both handguns and long guns (9mm, 45ACP, 38SP and 223). So on the good side we can legally be a "2 a month" family - but it does tend to have a double bad impact on the credit card bills!

If I was single no kids I would definitely would buy a gun every month.

That's like saying you have too much joy in your life ;-)

That being said, rifles DO count towards this noble endeavor. Besides the Handi Rifle, a Mosin is on the short list as is a MP5 style .22 for plinking. With so many good guns out there, its easy to find something interesting.

I did this about a year or so ago for a few months straight. Long gun and pistol. Not planned just worked out that way.


Next thing I know I have 14 guns..

Luckily and gladly I'm content with my collection as of right now. But.. I have about 6 of the 14 guns that still have not been cleaned. Its a fu**in task now lol

Now that prices are back to normal, I would say this is a smart plan. I would also add a good amount of ammo to your monthly purchases. You will be set during the next panic.

I am lucky, my wife and I have an agreement. As long as all the bills are paid, kids have food clothes and activities, any extra money I can spend how I wish.

Now that prices are back to normal, I would say this is a smart plan. I would also add a good amount of ammo to your monthly purchases. You will be set during the next panic.

Ammo is the real expenditure, I end up spending nearly as much on ammo per month. I am going need to make room in my garage for a reloading set up...and a new safe.

I've already purchased most everything I want I the sub $1000 range. I don't have $15-18k to spend on firearms this year. Though I do plan on knocking a couple off of my list this year.

It's not about money. She complained recently that I spent more time with guns than her Lol. So no more gun until at least mid year.

Wife and I are doing an SSE each every month. Currently booked through March.

Though this is not an offensive "in your face", they control the playing field. More a defensive action. Good chance this time next year there will be no SSE so I'm "gettin" while the "gettin" is good.

I can't lose. If I'm wrong, OMG, I got a bunch of cool guns. I'm going to keep going until the discretionary income falls behind. As long as I don't hit the "nut" the wife is fine with it.
