I would personally stay away from that FFL . The 20% restocking fee basically tie your hands behind your back. Once you pay, they will do whatever they want as they please and still make a profit. If you cancel, they will still make a profit without even working for it. Either way, you're royally effffffed. People, you have been warned again.

most places have similar policies:
Canceled or changed orders will incur a $25.00 cancellation/change even if they have not shipped out and reported within 3 days of order. Any orders cancelled after 3 days will be subject to a 10% re stocking fee . We invest time and money to prepare every order that is placed on our site even before the order ships. Our business is not set up to change orders easily and need our customers to be sure of their order before placing it via the web site. Please make sure you are committed to you purchase prior to completing the online order .
We need to receive the FFL for your order within 7 days of order completion . After 10 days if we have not received the FFL from the transfer dealer
your order will be cancelled and a 10% restocking fee charged.
If your order has shipped out and you change your mind you will be responsible for shipping both ways and a 20% re stocking fee.
that's from Atlantic Firearms..I buy from both vendors...most online places charge u restocking fees if u do decide to reneg on a purchase...Last edited by hellayella; 02-03-2014, 2:20 AM.Comment

few places have similar policies.
Do they also charge to pick up their phones to talk to you? Seems like that since they don't answer the phone or call back.
Why bother with those places when there are a ton of others that have real customer service and not use the BoA business tactics.Comment

Well fortunately he updated the post to clarify he was copy/pasting from http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/howt...rn-policy.html which uses "we" in their text.Comment

Let's not pile on hellayella. He appears to be a pretty solid Calgunner: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=846451. He's given me some good advice as well, and if not for 922r compliance issues on my Saiga project, I'd be taking him up on that wood restoration as well.Last edited by BumBum; 02-03-2014, 9:33 AM.sigpic

I can vouch for hellayella and that he isn't a shill for socal. We all have our favorite stores that we tend to promote, he's just more outspoken about it.
would love to hear a happy ending soon on this one.Comment

true, I live close so I visit their shop (So Cal Firearms) often maybe the face-to-face factors in on getting things done...
their phone system sucks which needs a bit working on, I'd just pay them a visit and straighten things out....
as with any online vendors, I seriously recommend reading their policies about cancellations etc since the devil's always in the details, hence the need for reading the fine print and legal disclaimers...
as I was saying since So Cal Firearms is in Orange it pays to make a trip down there if u are local to the area....Comment

I don't know if it's standard, but it sure does deter people from backing out on purchases etc...I tend to do my research and get the OOD pricing before I so call "pull the trigger" on my FFL purchases...that way I know exactly what to pay and what I'm getting in return...
my friend referred SO CAL Firearms to me since he DROS'd a tavor so I used to them to get a JBL Armory rifle here from TX, no probs..then I looked around and saw that OPAPS were selling cheap from Classic etc and it was a travesty for me not to get one before the long gun registration kicked in, but I found out OOS but So Cal FFL had them and I got a really good price before CAI decided to raise the prices on them...
then Classic Firearms, Centerfire and Buds had special on order for their M85/M92s but they don't ship to CALIF (those were running about $399-etc) and u needed a SSE etc , and I'm not gonna call around a bazillion places just to price match and to see if they can make it CAL-legal, so I called So CAL FFL if they can get them and they did...)15 min drive from my place)
So Cal Firearms is a small place..maybe they are a jobber or drop-shipper with not much for display, but they do come forward as a honest-to-god outfit...just do ur homework and shop around etc..that's the legwork most purchasers choose to skimp on...
no bull****...straight from the chinaman's mouth....for what it's worth!Last edited by hellayella; 02-03-2014, 3:21 PM.Comment

they have a old phone that doesn't even have a answering machine...I'm gonna talk to Travis and James about some upgrades!!!few places have similar policies.

James is a 70 year old disabled Vietnam veteran that is quite a colorful character and fought more for your life, liberty and YOUR pursuit of happiness that u seem to seemingly enjoy...
if u in So Cal, pay them a visit instead of bad-mouthing people that u've never met before, you'd discover that your impressions of people may change...Last edited by hellayella; 02-03-2014, 3:28 PM.Comment

I've had it with these guys. This is the most terrible firearm related experience I have ever had. They have had my ATI shotgun in their possession since 01/16/14, I started DROS 01/17/14, or so I thought..they still haven't been able to begin the process due to it supposedly not being on their little website "drop down". The guy James has taken my name and number 7 times and has yet to call me back and Travis, who I assume is the owner when asked for just passes me back to James who promptly asks my name and number even though I have spoken with him every single day since I showed up to pick up the shotgun on 01/27/2014 after my 240hrs. Which the only reason I showed up there was James told me "sure swing on by I'll have it ready to go for you by the time you get here"....which was after he told me that "If we don't call everything is good to go"...needless to say I never got a call back because THEY HAVE NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!!
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? They have my property I paid for and are clueless as to how to get it to me. I have enough experience to realize yelling and threats will get me nowhere.
I have already contacted the DOJ with their contact info and the shotgun info to see if they might shed some light on the situation, but I have no faith that will get me too far...
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
for someone that's from the 714, u sure are quite lazy to swing on down to Batavia Street in Orange, CA just to get things resolved...I'm from LA county and I manage to get there to take care of my business there...

I don't push for Jestice Arms..Mitch and I have known each other for 2 years as a customer and he started small as a part-time business owner/ex accountant and AK-afficianado working from home in Michigan..he then moved to Tenn due do that place being a better value etc...he was the first to ship good quality AK mag kits sourced from great suppliers at a great price...
I push companies that are forthright honest and don't dick around me wit me...as for me, Jestice Arms for mags, Apex for Akparts, So Cal Firearms for transfers, Atlantic Firearms for internet...SGammo/ammoman for bulk ammo, Buellster from CALGUNS for build tutors and members of the AKteam, Mad River Arms for my KVAR distributor, Russiansurplus.net for my combloc needs and AKfiles marketplace for my exotic hard-to-source items...Comment
