    Disgusted

    Hello all
I went out shooting today in the Banning and Beaumont hills area, it is a
shame that shooters cant pick up there trash when shooting, there are
thousands of shot gun shells all over and steel cases, why cant they pick it up?
Bring it in TAKE IT BACK OUT!!! Is there ever an organized clean up in this area?

You talking about in the hills south of the 10? I haven't been out that way in over a year but I always take a large trash bag and haul out what I can when I go.

Unfortunately this is how people are now. The "it's someone elses problem or I don't care attitude" has become a mantra to everyone. Only thing we can do is pack out more than we bring in and attempt to educate the socially inept.

I live in Beaumont and shoot in a slightly different location but I try to take home more than what I brought, but my car is so small it's tough to make a difference. Last time I went I found a intact horse skeleton off the side of one of the hills lol. Needless to say I didn't take it home.

Would you have to get a permit to do a clean up?

This is exactly why i do not share my shooting sites with others. They tell their friends, and it starts going downhill from there. You should do the same, or, eventually you'll have NO place to shoot at all. Trust me on this, I've seen it happen.

Years ago when I did the desert, the rule was haul out more than you take in.

Last BLM cleanup I did, was a TV, pc monitors, lots of glass, stuffed animals, cans, targets, a chair (target stand?) shotgun hulls & of course brass/steel.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I tried to clean up my lane at my local range and got scolded and accused of stealing brass. Go figure.

Ouch, shotgun shells are the worst. I pick up everything I can find. Granted I know I can't always find every shell, but easy to see shotgun shells there is practically no excuse.

was it someone who worked at the range?

my local indoor range has this BS policy "once a spent casing hits the floor it belongs to us", so i refuse to shoot anything but steel there and figure they can have fun sorting my useless steel from the brass they want so bad
