22 pistol - Bullet Button?

I remember a while back, I saw these on sale and wanted to get one but the store I went to said it required a bullet button. This is a 22 AR. Is this true?

If so, If I build a 10/22 pistol from an 80% will I need to fix the magazine?

WOW, Thats a cut down 15-22! That thing looks sweet, But I wonder how legal it is in cali? Sorry OP I don't mean to take the thread away but did you see that gun in cali? Yes it will require the BB Because the mag is exposed. Not sure if that's the correct terminology or not....

No, it needs a BB because it's an AW due to it being a pistol with a magazine outside of the pistol grip. Rimfire handguns are not exempt from AW laws.

They had this at Ammo bros and Riflegear in pistol configuration.

They don't make bullet buttons for 10/22's huh? Deng, there goes my pistol idea. Back to the drawing board.

At least one person made some at some point, because there are people with ruger chargers(10/22 pistol). Go do some poking around in the rimfire forum and you might just stumble across one, or at least how to make one.

Read the post I quoted. A 10/22 pistol does not require a barrel shroud or threaded barrel. Because you would be stuck with a mag lock due to the magazine location anyway, you might as well start adding the rest of the features.

It's not simply a threaded barrel and barrel shroud on a ruger charger that doesn't have either of those features that triggers AW status.

Does anyone know if it is legal to make one of these out of an existing rifle ? Maybe because it is rimfire and not center fire ? It would be pretty easy to do and damn it would be neat to have one.

Thanks! I couldn't remember, to excited to see that 15-22 modified like that. Honestly can't believe I hadent already thought of doing it myself!!!
