Theoretically, undeveloped land and private shooting range.

Where's a good place to find information on buying a small plot of investment property - one that can be legally used as a private shooting range? Could something like that be done under $50k in Placer County?

The search function on this forum. Just because it is undeveloped land doesn't mean that you can legally shoot. Different locales have different rules; some counties make it easy, others make it virtually impossible. You also need to think about how much land you need to be able to safely contain the projectiles (and most counties have rules about that too). Hint: a quarter acre won't do it.

Personally, I have no idea about the real estate market in Placer county.

The Clark County Shooting Park is great. Check out this map of their current park and future expansion. Might be good for some ideas.

          Land doesn't answer your question.

You'll need to check with your city and their ordinance and all that good stuff. Also have to factor in what's behind your land and around it all comes into play. Even tho it might be safe there may be heavy fees IF the city even approves.

GL! Wish I could find a little piece of land to call my own like that.

If you are talking about the more remote parts of the county then I think it's very possible. Check with realtors. They will know the restrictions if any and the price ranges for YOUR are.

My county has a no shooting zone map on the sheriff's website.

Make sure there are no neighbors whose sensibilities will be disturbed by hearing your gunfire off in the distance. They'll sue your butt and make you wish you never had this idea in the first place.

                  Best of luck.

Idaho might be a better place for this.
