Is .408 Cheytac legal in CA?

So I found this one one gunbroker.com and want to get one.
It's .408 Cheytac, and I'm not sure if it's legal or not.
Please let me know, thanks in advance.

Bolt action rifle. Why wouldn't it be legal? Buy it!

Ya its legal, but do you have a range long enough to shoot it?

        read this

EDIT: OP, that gun is sold by a company called KGI Imports, which is a warehouse distributor out of arkansas (iirc). They are NOTORIOUS for selling guns that they dont have yet, ie you buy it, then they call you and tell you that it will be sent to your FFL within a 1 week to 1 year period. They require that you put a deposit down and follow through with the sale, even after making you wait all that time. Its a cool gun, but buy from another company, do not, i repeat, DO NOT buy from KGI.

heres the part in their disclaimer telling you this
        Product Availability:
We operate a store and web based shopping cart system which means guns can be sold before an auction ends making in unavailable or the gun will need to be shipped in from one of our many suppliers or it will be available.
On the occasion an auction upload may be corrupt/incorrect or the item may be sold before we notice your (bid/buy now/auction ending) We are not responsible for corrupt/incorrect auctions due to gunbroker listers/APIs

I do not know where the OP lives.

Tom Miller has been friends with Bill and distributed EDM products for a long time... Tom is based out of San Diego and travels to a variety of gun shows...

I would be shocked if he could not get you a gun for the same price or lower than the GB auction's reserve price

To place an order, please call Tom Miller @ 760-500-1151, or email tommiller23@cox.net with any questions. We are standing by to take orders 24/7.

That is one expensive beast to feed, $7.10 a round

One hell of a round though

I'll vouch for Tom too. If you really want a EDM Arms gun, call Tom.

I'd go with a .50cal first just based on the cost and availability of ammo. Yes, .50 cal rifles are still legal in Ca as long as they are not chambered in 50BMG. EDM makes a Windrunner in .510 DTC.

Seconding that recommendation; good guy, loads of class. Really goes out of his way to be sure you are happy and know as much as there is to know about the firearm that you buy from him. I've never seen a salesperson offer to go to the range with you to help zero-in/break-in your scope/rifle. Very knowledgable too, with a great background.
