Leaving state for good with reg. weapons

First, when the time comes for me to leave this state, what is the process to inform the DoJ that they no longer need to keep their tracking device on me since I'm gone for good?

Second, military is exempt from DoJ mandated regisration (at least as far as I know). I understand that transfers or sales through a CA FFL get registered regardless. Is there something that can be filed while I'm still here to remove my registration with proof of active status?

You would probably have to sell them to someone here in California for them to take notice. And even then you will probably still be on a "used to own guns" list.

What state are you moving to? I feel sorry for that state, because you are a prime example of the Californication of free states. Folks like you move out of CA and bring your CA mentalities with you.
Noone in a free state will come confiscate your guns.
What makes you think CA will come confiscate your guns and come after you? Are you a convicted felon? Have you been adjudicated to be mentally unfit to own guns?
Why do you even think there's a need to "unregister" a gun you bought in CA? There is absolutely no benefit, even if you can do this.
I feel a lot of the OP's paranoia comes from ignorance, and a basic lack of understanding of how laws, government, and rights work in this country, and I wish our public schools would start teaching American civics again.

I moved from CA to VA several years ago and brought all of my guns from CA. None of them have been "unregistered" and noone is coming to confiscate them. I have even bought several guns not allowed in CA, and noone from CA DOJ has come out to VA to confiscate them. You need to quickly lose that CA mentality if you want to fit in if you move to a free state.

I'll be moving once i leave active duty. I have a Washington mentality The reason I ask is because if you get a ticket in another state and they require you to cone to court you still have to show up regardless. Why would guns be different?

Furthermore, I am ignorant of that law because I am not from this state. I am from Washington state. You do realize that there are literally hundreds of laws on the books in California regulating firearms? I would suspect that someone here would have more knowledge than I. That would be why I asked the question in the first place.

It is people like YOU who have the mentality of not helping others out, which is a prime reason why I want to return to my home state. Perhaps next time, instead of going on the offensive and attacking people for asking relatively reasonable questions given the current political climate, you will either answer the question to the best of your ability or simply not say anything.

That was what I figured but it wouldn't surprise me if they did start confiscating weapons and issued bench warrants for everyone who was a registered gun owner in the state. Maybe I'm just speculating too much.
